Hey there sweet friends!
So, as you all know, I've been doing quite a bit of traveling lately. I'm currently in the Bahamas! However, I want to make this post as a little fitness follow up from my trip to Idaho last week.
Traveling so much, my fitness and heathy lifestyle has been pretty hard to keep up at the my desired level. I always try and choose the "healthier choice" when I have the chance, but really cool places usually have really cool food... so one must go with the local choices sometimes! Guilty!
I have to be honest, my choices have taken a toll on my looks and feelings (more on a personal level than what others may see) and that gets really hard for me to enjoy my experience sometimes. I'm not afraid to let y'all know. I know that's not really normal for people to feel, but this is a personal blog; so, its my choice to express this to y'all. Those of you who may experience this please don't feel alone. Times like these get hard. But thanks to my mom and other friends, I'm learning to accept these feelings and tell myself that this is the time to have fun, and show love and appreciation for myself! Not to always strive for perfection, but enjoyment and happiness in life!
Fitness and health should fun! Not a chore. It's a chance to experiment with food and activities Although, for me, I use the gym and fitness center for "me time" so it's all in personal judgement!! That being said, while I was up in the mountains I got my workout on with my friends in creative ways!
We went on long hikes!
We did sprints up hills along the trails by our cabin
We did home workouts in the basement of the cabin
We made up outdoor workouts with the tools around the cabin (e.g. Logs, tires, and steps)
We went on long runs and used them as excuses to explore the areas around us!
So, see! You can get workouts in wherever you go! Here's the workout we made up outside!
Stretch first! Go for a 10 minute jog
10 lunges each leg up onto a step. Challenge: Make them jump lunges and switch each jump! Try not to stop... Go straight to the next.
15 squats with something kind of heavy like a piece of firewood
30 squat pulses in a sumo squat.
20 push ups
25 Russian twists with some sort of weight like a pot!
40 high knees
15 tricep dips off a stair
8 frog leaps up the hill
20 bicep curls with a log/piece of firewood. Challenge: add a lunge each time you curl!
Hold a Plank for a minute
Try this three times through!
I hope you are all doing wonderful! I can't wait to tell you all about my experience in the Bahamas!! Also, if you get bored... search for me on YouTube. Once my videos look a bit better I'll advertise them more ;)
Have a lovely night friends!
xoxo
