"Find beauty in each day."
Every once in a while we have one of those days we have no idea how to feel. Maybe nothing bad has happened, but maybe nothing great, and you are just kind of blah, and when those days occur, to me, they kind of suck. It’s hard to turn it completely around, but it is so important to try! I strive to find beauty in every day! If you only knew the crazy incredible things going on in my life right now, I really have no reason at all to feel blah! I have every reason to be so unbelievably happy, but I’m human, and yesterday I felt blah.
I would ask you if you’ve ever felt like this before, but that would mean my blog would be reaching another planet because you would not be a human, but I have to be realistic here. So, on those days you feel like this what do you do? Here’s how I worked on turning it around while I still could, and found beauty in the gloomy day besides writing it out to you:
I hope that if you just had one of those blah days like me, or whenever you do have one of those days, this message can help you get through it! No matter what, you’re able to read this! You’re here. And that, my friends, is a gift within itself.

I would ask you if you’ve ever felt like this before, but that would mean my blog would be reaching another planet because you would not be a human, but I have to be realistic here. So, on those days you feel like this what do you do? Here’s how I worked on turning it around while I still could, and found beauty in the gloomy day besides writing it out to you:
- Go for a walk and listen to music that makes you smile.
- This helps me escape into my own happy world of my favorite sounds that leaves me no choice but to change my mood. And walking, well, who doesn’t love to get some fresh air, increase their heart rate a bit and get that blood flowing without really having to try? Take a break from reality and escape for however long you can! 10 minutes, 30 minutes, hec if you have an hour don’t waste it moping!
- Eat one of your favorite little treats.
- Careful now. Going a little overboard can set you back further, but eating or drinking a little something that you love like a delicious caramel latte or a nutella can boost your energy, your taste buds, and your mood into some positivity!
- We made different types of muffins in my nutrition lab. We had to make homemade muffins from scratch with no recipe! Although some peoples muffins were questionable, ours were awesome, and definitely helped keep my mind off of the negativity that was going on and brightened my "blah."
- Which brings me to another idea… Challenge yourself to something that takes your mind off of whatever it is that is making your day a blah day, or help spark it up.
- This can be giving yourself a challenge to give up something for the week or taking on something to improve your week like a physical challenge. Tell yourself that you will run one mile each day of this week, and do it! Or tell yourself, I won’t eat/drink this all week this week, and see if that challenge will spark some motivation to improve yourself that week.
- Phone a friend or family!
- Sometimes we just need to vent about what’s going on without any judgment or worry about what others might think about the situation. Yes, it’s tough if you have to admit things that are embarrassing or may have not been the best decisions, but that’s when you turn to your friends who just love you for you! I texted one of my best friends here, within 10 minutes she was here, tears had flowed, laughs were had, and hugs were given! It was just what I needed to feel a like a weight was lifted, and sparked my day to finish up in such a better way!
- Also, I have one of the most supportive families imaginable! I can tell them anything, and usually if I'm holding something back it's probably because I'm afraid to disappoint them. However, once I talk it out, or complain to them with no reasoning behind it, they take it and I feel so much better!
- P.S. If you need a friend, I’m here for you. No judgment! Just honesty, love, and support!
- There is no better supporter in this entire universe than our main Man upstairs! It’s hard. We get so caught up in the blah day and feeling like we’re not really moving with ourselves, or have put ourselves in situations that make our minds wonder, that we forget who has control over it all! We all are guilty of it, but cannot let ourselves forget who we can put our trust in most of all!! He has given us all we have, and will continue to bless us with beauty in every day! We have to pick up our spirits! Not just for ourselves, but for Him!
- “The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: "The LORD's right hand has done mighty things! The LORD's right hand is lifted high; the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” Psalm 118:14-17
