So, the first blog is always the easiest. The second seems to be a bit more difficult. I've thought about it all day! How do I ACTUALLY begin all of this? And, how do I make sure I am dedicated to this? I told myself -if I am going to go through with this blog it has to be something that I am going to stick to! This isn't going to be "a week thing" or "only when I feel like it thing"! It is going to be a thing that is going to keep both my readers and I on track with our lives. Which led me to start comparing it to other things in life that turn into temporary things like diets, exercises, and other projects we end up putting on hold that eventually turn into nonexistent things. We then have to work so hard all over again to start these things back up, and we all know that we don't really feel like doing that, so we move on to the next thing. It's a never ending cycle. HOWEVER! When we do finish those certain special projects, or do complete that awesome 6 week workout program, or do stick with that one month of no sweets it is seriously the best feeling ever! We are so proud of ourselves, and remember that feeling forrreeVER! (Yes, that was the Squint's voice from The Sandlot) It's only those special ones of course, but it happens! What makes those certain things so special? Is it something about those specific projects that makes them different than the others, or is it YOU that makes a change in the way you take those projects on that gives you the determination to finish them?I believe it's the second one. :) I believe it's a special little bug in your mind that helps you to stay on track with that certain thing no matter what it is! Maybe it's the mind set you have during that stage in your life, and your feeling mature and confident. Maybe it's the people you are spending time with at the moment, and you're wanting to see them see you succeed. Or maybe it is the prize that's waiting for you at the finish line. Whatever it is, I think that it's time to really think about it, and try to apply that to all of the things we want to do. Not just the special ones. So, I have been really thinking about which tips I'm going to try out to help me stay on track with the things I want to see myself succeed at and stick with such as my blog, exercise routines, and healthy eating lifestyle change. If you're feelin' the same way as I am join me in trying these out! You can apply these with anything you're taking on during this time in you're life! If you do join me, PLEASE comment or email me! I would love to hear what you're working on, and how these might have helped you succeed! Here are the top five tips I have come up with and want to share with y'all: 1. Write It Out! Get a cute/cool little notebook and write out what it is that you are wanting to do, how your going to do it, and (most importantly) why you're wanting to do this! Writing out my plan is always fun, and can be something continuous! 2. Post Inspiration ALL OVER! Yes, it may be those pictures of girls with awesome bods on the fridge, but ya know as much as we don't want to admit it they kinda work. Maybe if it's a project put pics of the finished project around your house! Little reminders in your planner, purse, bathroom, wherever will keep that thing on your mind 'til its done! 3. Tell People All About It! (This includes God) If you keep talking about it, it's going to motivate you to want to finish because seeing people excited about whatever it is that you're doing makes you want to also see their excitement when it's actually finished! Especially God! He loves to hear what you want to do and see you succeed! Tell Him about it, and I'm willing to bet He'll help you along the way! 4. Walk It Off! Nothing helps me get back into focus with what I'm doing than taking a walk to think about it all over again. If I'm getting distracted or not sure what to do next I just go outside to walk and think about it. A change in scenery is a really good stimulant for my mind. 5. Plan Your Reward to Yourself! It doesn't always have to be a cookie, but rewarding yourself with something just to let you know how proud you are of yourself is so important! Self satisfaction, in my opinion, helps us keep on keepin' on to the next thing! To me, seeing people like my sister so proud of me is so gratifying. So if I am doing something, and know I get to share the finished product with her- it is so rewarding- so I finish it! ...just like this post. Blessings! xoxo libs :) P.S. Good luck with what you're trying to accomplish! You CAN finish what you start! Don't forget to comment and email me with y'alls thoughts and suggestions! |
