Hey y'all!
I'm wrote this on the plane headed to MEXICO!!! Two amazing friends of mine celebrated their beautiful love together, and got married in Cancun!! And of course I went! These two have a love for each other that is so perfect, and I was so happy to see it grow and grow to something worth celebrating on the white beaches of a gorgeous resort!! I'm so blessed to be apart of their lives and able to watch them tie the know!! Ahhhh!!! As you also know, one of my biggest passions is traveling so I would never skip out on a chance to learn how to become a better and more experienced Jetsetter! :) haha Can I just say... their wedding was an absolute fairytale!! I'm speechless trying to describe the entire trip because it could have not been more perfect!! <3 Everyone was so kind, the ceremony was like a dream, and the resort couldn't have treated us better!! Thank you Secret Silversands Riviera Maya!!
(I am just going to leave all of the writing as it was when I wrote it! I'm sorry I didn't get to post this sooner! My wifi was just the craziest out by the playa!)
Even though I'm escaping the cold for a few days, I am still wanting to give you some of my latest ideas on how to stay healthy in this bipolar weather!! It's so hard for me to find motivation to stay active when I'm cold! Most difficult part for me- getting dressed... I have to count down to change from my robe and pjs to my workout clothes. The struggle to change from warm clothes to clothes that I expect to sweat in is SO real!! Once I make the super speed change it becomes a little easier to start my way to the gym because I have to find a way to warm up. Then once I'm working out I don't want to stop because it's keeping me warm!! haha. Am I alone here? Idk maybe I'm just extremely cold blooded and dramatic, but thats my biggest issue! So silly I knooooow! But I find a way to get through it! I just stop for a sec and think, "Libby, what do you want to see? What will make you feel better and changed? Okay, GO!" Whether it be getting dressed, starting your workout, or getting through your work out we have to think to ourselves this WILL make me feel better about my day, my life, my self! Just do it! Also, getting someone to do it with you to where you motivate each other makes it a million times better!! My twinsie Shelby is seriously my life saver!! Not only do we plan workouts together, but having someone to push me to get there and work hard makes it easier and so enjoyable!! So grab a partner and get out there together! Shelby and I have been doing more HIIT workouts! (High Intensity Interval Training) Its been really fun mixing up the types of workouts I do! And boy are they effective!! Here's a killer one we did for ABS:
First: ~20 Hip Raises ~50 mountain climbers ~20 toe touches ~20 bikes (each side)
Second: ~30 bench hops (over each side) ~20 leg raises on the bench ~20 v ups with light weigh ~20 crunches
*Do each set for 6 minutes and repeat 2 times! (Total time: 24 minutes!) Holy Abs!!
I love fall weather for all of the awesome slow cooker recipes that are just sooo necessary and appropriate at the time!! Soups, stews, cobblers, the list goes on and on!! I recently made a vegetable soup that I ate for three days straight and continued to love it each night I ate it!! With soups as long as you have a base (water+chicken/vegetable broth is my go to) and seasonings that you love, you can make a soup with whatever you want in it!! For my latest soup, I started off with my base, cut up a sweet potato, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, celery, onion, garlic, and a can of tomatoes and canaille beans, then 5 min before I cut the slow cooker off I threw in a handful of kale. I seasoned it with all kinds of yummy flavors including cumin, cayenne pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper! It made for such a perfect warm dinner once I would get in from walking home in the cold! I love to go to Better Home and Garden's website for easy slow cooker recipes! They have a ton!! I'm going to try a butternut squash recipe next, and I will let you know the tips I learn through making it on my next post! :)
And for inspiration, a quote by James Allen from the book I'm currently reading called God Girl: Becoming the Woman You're Meant to Be by Hayley Dimarco: "Man is chained only by himself. Thoughts are the jailers of Fate-they imprison, being base; they are also the angels of Freedom- they liberate being noble. Not what he wished and prays for does a man get, but what he harbors within. His wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with his thoughts." Wow... friends, please really concentrate on this quote. It's very eye opening to me. You are what you believe you are! Your thoughts are what change you, and not until you have confidence in yourself are you able to change for YOUR better!
I hope you enjoy friends!! I'm going to go enjoy some time out in the sun!! I'll talk to you soon! Please feel free to email me or message me for any advice, suggestions, or thoughts!! :)
