A few experiences:
In July, my dad faced the decision to leave his job. Shocking and scary for all of us. It took a toll on our family, but impacted him extremely. He became vulnerable and really questioned why the heck this happened! “Why did I do this- I wasn’t prepared for this?” Our family did not need this dramatic change at this time! It could have easily been a very negative toll (and assumed would be). It wasn't. It not only brought our family closer together, but it strengthened us into something we never thought we would be. We supported each other, especially dad, in such a way that only God could do! He now is the best man he has ever been, transformed into a man more admirable than ever before, and about to begin the most perfect job for him! Go Dad and Go God!
In May, I auditioned for a role of a lifetime: to be casted in a very magical role at the opening of Disney Shanghai! Wait.. what?! Yes - open a new Disney World in Shanghai China! Keep in mind, this has been my dream ever since I heard that this job existed about three years ago! (Live it Up! Adventure?! So me!) Well, I made it through all three cuts, but still... this was a world tour of auditions. Long story short, I was recently offered the contract!! Yes, there were tears involved. However, other opportunities to serve women and God, ultimately through television, have entered my life as well. A dream of mine or a chance to do His duties/plan? Libby or God? ...Now, I really prayed about it because, hey, He put China in my life, too, right? But once I stopped to listen, I heard, and the decision was easy.
And yesterday, I take this random long walk, not planning on where exactly I wanted to go, and I end up walking 2.5 miles, just in tune to my music following where the path was leading me hoping to come along a bench to journal. I come upon a bridge. I see this girl standing underneath it. As I grow closer to her, I realize it's the same girl I had known via Facebook but never met in person. We had been randomly messaging about life and other ideas! We had such a long talk and spread encouragement to each other, and really saw God work through us! I mean, I’ve been sick with shingles! I shouldn't have even walked that far, but I did! It is so crazy how He leads us into times like these! And when He does, my friends, my encouragement for you is to make the best of them!
Yes, this is quite a long post, but I had to spread this message! Timing is one thing. But whose timing is most important? Perhaps, we lean to ourselves when it comes to our actions, but try giving whatever you have to God. Trust HIS timing! HE won't be late! I promise :)
