Sometimes some of us need a wake up call as to who is in control of our lives. I am a planner, a busy girl with something going on almost every hour of the day, or else it seems like it! I felt so in control of everything that had been going on in my life recently... until a couple of weeks ago. I experienced one of those wake up calls that really opened my eyes and helped me see that I’m not the one who is in control of everything. He showed me he has total control and that I needed to slow down.
I was in a car accident, and although it was my accident, I have a feeling it was pretty intentional on Someone's end.
None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes, and it is totally okay! I can say this now, but at the moment after my accident, with my brother in the car and my sister and cousins at my side after, I felt like I was the worst sister/daughter ever. Not only was this a car accident, but it was my second car accident, which made me feel even worse!
A million thoughts rushed through my head! First thing I did was run out of the car and check on the others, luckily they weren’t hurt. My brother (who was riding with me) was totally fine and so were the others involved. After we took all of the steps to solving the situation we were all able to move passed it. I took on the responsibility of getting those silly annoying issues with insurance and stuff situated and everything worked out! No one was hurt and that's all that really mattered.
Now for the life lesson. We all have those crazy things that happen to us that make us ask God "Why!? Why now? I don't have time for this! How in the world am I suppose to get through this?" Now, i'm not a preacher or anything, but I just want you to know that these things happen to all of us! It sucks. I had so many awesome things going on in my life at the moment! I was literally beaming with smiles when all of a sudden Bam! They turned into tons of stress and anxiety.
Later on that day, when I was reflecting on what all happened, all I could think of was how amazingly supportive my entire family was through everything! My brother, sister, and cousin showered me with hugs and love telling me it was all going to be okay! My parents were on the phone every hour telling me not to worry that they were just happy I was okay and that I needed to keep my faith strong! My friends texting and calling me trying to make me smile! I kept kicking myself down and they were picking me up! I had to stop looking back at what I should've done and look at what I had in right front of me! The most supportive family and friends I could ever ask for and an increasingly strong faith! And I wouldn't have reflected on all of that if my accident didn't happen! I would've just been so caught up in the craziness going on in my life! As usual!
Another example, so my mom just broke her arm over Easter weekend! Like what the hec right? Breaking an arm is probably one of the most inconvenient things a person can do besides breaking a leg... .But anyway, yea so she broke her arm, and was in the hospital in a ton of pain all day Saturday and I barely got to see her! So, it's no surprise she was super bummed for a while and questioned God about all of it! But we all came together to help her, and that's what the weekend seemed to really need. An obvious slap in the face reason to unite and spend quality time together helping her and showing her our love.
There's a reason for everything! Whether it be something scary, painful, sad, whatever! But you have to remember that you aren't the only one that has had to go through something like it. The phrase "going through it" is used because that's exactly what you do... you go through it... you make it through! Or else you wouldn't be able to look back at it! We all get so caught up in our crazy busy lives, and many times when we do something so unplanned and unwanted happens to let us know, "HEY! Chill out! You're getting distracted and forgetting about what you have around you! This may not be something you want, but I have a plan and I have this under control." We forget to look around at what we have in life! The simple but most spectacular things! Faith, Family, and Friends! So guys, as these crazy exciting summer times come up take some time to reflect on whatha got and who gave it to you and who's helping you plan what you'l be getting next!
So I know there's nothing obviously related to fitness or health related in this post, but the most important traits in my life are faith, love, and happiness and those are things pretty healthy if you ask me! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!!
